Who he fits
- Homes that want a porch or patio centerpiece. GSE's manual calls him a centerpiece for outdoor holiday arrangements.
- Warm places. He needs an outlet, not cold air, so he works in Atlanta or Phoenix.
- Small events where people walk up, laugh and take photos. See Christmas parties, churches, tree lightings and storefronts.
- People who don't want to set anything up. No assembly, one switch, one knob.
Who he doesn't fit
- Snow over a whole venue. GSE calls him a "starter" option for small-scale use. For bigger jobs, GSE sells larger machines.
- Rain or wet ground. He can't run in the rain, near standing water, or on a wet surface.
- Nights below 25°F. The manual says not to run him that cold.
- Unattended displays. The manual says never to leave him running with nobody around.
- A children's toy. He's an electrical product, so keep him away from small children.

Good questions.
Where can I buy a snowman that makes snow?
From Global Special Effects, the company that builds the Amazing Snowman, for $499. The buy buttons on this page go straight to their checkout.
Does he make real snow?
No. The flakes come from water and a fluid concentrate, with no cold air involved. They look like falling snow, then evaporate in under two minutes on average.
What does he cost to run?
About $8 of fluid per tank. A 6-pack of 2 oz bottles is $47 and one bottle makes one tank, which is about 45 minutes of snow. A 6-pack comes in the box, so you start with about 4.5 hours of snow.
Can he go outside?
Yes, on a dry, level spot out of the rain. Use a GFCI outlet, don't run him below 25°F, and keep him away from ledges and steps.
Will he make the floor slippery?
He can. GSE's manual warns that snow can build up a slippery residue on some surfaces, linoleum in particular. Keep the flakes set to a light flurry and warn people walking by. More on the indoor snow machine page.
Is the fluid safe?
GSE describes it as non-toxic and safe for people, pets and plants. GSE's data sheet for the undiluted concentrate also lists skin and eye irritation. Read both on the snow fluid safety page.
What's the warranty?
A 1-year limited warranty, valid when you use fluid from Global Special Effects.
