Snow for resident holiday events
For apartment communities and HOAs, the $499 Amazing Snowman is a resident-event piece that plugs into a standard outlet, ships assembled and blows snow 15 to 20+ feet, even where it never snows.
He's for events with staff or volunteers around. The manual says never to leave him running unattended, so he isn't a lobby display that runs all night.
- $499one machine, reused every year
- ~$8of fluid per 45-minute tank
- 1 outletstandard 120 V with GFCI
- Staffedsomeone must stay with him
Who he fits
- Leasing offices and clubhouses running a resident holiday party or cookie night.
- HOA tree lightings, pool-deck parties and kids' events.
- Communities in warm states, where snow is the surprise.
- A photo spot for resident social posts. GSE says people pause, smile and take photos.
Who he doesn't fit
- Lobbies or gates where he'd run with nobody there. The manual says never to leave him unattended.
- Snow across a whole lawn or parking lot. GSE calls him a small-scale starter option.
- Uncovered spots in rain, wet decks, or nights below 25°F.
- Smooth clubhouse floors where residents walk through. Aim him at carpet or a mat.
See the real one.
This is Global Special Effects' own video of the Snowman running. It wasn't shot at an event like yours, but it lets you judge the snow for yourself before you buy.
What an event costs.
A two-hour resident party takes about three tanks, or about $23.50 of fluid at $47 for six bottles, and about $15.67 with the three-pack deal. That's our math from GSE's numbers: one 2 oz bottle per half-gallon tank, about 45 minutes per tank.
Renting a snowman snow machine instead ran $175 to $279 a booking on three rental company sites we read on November 7, 2026, so owning one pays off by about the second event. See rent or buy.
Our suggestion: check your property's insurance and event rules before the first event, as you would for any electrical decoration.
Setting up for residents.
- 1
Choose a covered spot
A dry, level surface out of the rain, near a GFCI outlet, with a clear path around him. His cord is 70 inches.
- 2
Aim away from walkways
Point the flakes away from doors and steps, onto grass, carpet or a mat. The manual warns about slippery residue on smooth floors.
- 3
Assign someone to him
One staff member or volunteer stays nearby while he runs, and turns him off when the event ends.
- 4
Store him for next year
Unplug him and keep him somewhere cool and dry, as the manual says.

Good questions.
Can he run outside at an HOA event?
Yes, out of the rain, on a dry level surface, on a GFCI outlet, and not below 25°F.
Can we leave him running in the lobby?
No. The manual says never to leave him running unattended.
Is the snow safe for kids and pets?
GSE calls the fluid non-toxic and safe for people and pets. Its data sheet lists skin and eye irritation for the undiluted concentrate. See snow fluid safety.
Does it leave a mess?
The flakes evaporate in under two minutes on average, GSE says. Heavy snow can leave a slippery residue on smooth floors.
Can a management company buy several?
